National Toast Day is brought to you by Tiptree World Bread Awards with Lakeland. This year we will be celebrating the nation’s love of bread and all of our favourite toast toppings on Thursday 23 February 2017.
Whether your bread of choice is Wholemeal, Fruit, a Gluten Free slice, or the good old-fashioned Great British White, it has been scientifically proven that toast is Britain’s most loved food smell. The man at the helm of this research was Professor Tim Jacob, School of Biosciences at Cardiff University; his fascinating pop-up studies revealed that the smell of toast triggers memories of happiness. I’ll raise a toast to that!
